Georg Hallensleben was born in Germany, and now lives in Paris with his wife and too many cats. Although he has exhibited his lush acrylic paintings throughout Europe, Storyopolis is his only home in the U.S. He has collaborated on several books with American writer Kate Banks, and even built a portable studio in his van so that he could paint near her home and check details with her as she wrote. His series of picture books (THE MISADVENTURES OF GASPARD AND LISA) are an even closer collaboration ?author and book designer Anne Gutman is his wife.
